IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE ANNOUNCES
THE GENE LEONARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Iowa Lakes Community College has announced the 2003-04 Gene Leonard Memorial Scholarship recipients. 

The recipients for Iowa Lakes Community College are Jessica Biddle, Cheryl Hatch, Jeffrey Headley, Tanya Louwagie, Amy Malm, Joshua Soenen, Ashley Walsh of Emmetsburg; Abby Anderson, Christina Schneider, Jeffrey Schoon, Brad Smith of Estherville; Brent Graettinger, Sheila Kulow, Brian Olesen of Graettinger, Wesley Baddely of Gruver; Dallas Maday of Ringsted; Jennifer Chapman, McKayla Hemmingsen, Mandy Reynolds of Ruthven; and Derek Gage of Dolliver.  Buena Vista University recipients are Marcus Goeders, Aubrey Kelly of Emmetsburg; Brenda Jones of Estherville; and Gretchen Helmich, Jamie Murray of Graettinger. Grinnell College recipient is Maury Noonan of Ayrshire.  Hawkeye Community College recipient is Michael Gunderson of Cylinder.  Iowa Central Community College recipient is Brian Schneider of Emmetsburg. Iowa State University recipients are Matthew Mueller of Cylinder; Megan Darling, Nicole Jones of Emmetsburg; Jennifer Smith of Estherville; and David Henningsen of Ruthven.  Minnesota State University recipient is Katie Riley of Emmetsburg.  Minnesota West recipient is Joshua Vanderhoff of Ruthven.  South Dakota State University recipient is Erin O'Leary of Emmetsburg.  Simpson College recipient is Bryan Geelan of Ruthven.  University of Northern Iowa recipients are Kelly Higgins, Michael Hough, Katie Orr of Emmetsburg and Rachel Grund of Ruthven. Wartburg College recipient is Joseph Tindall of Graettinger.  University of Iowa recipients are Taylor Strube of Emmetsburg; and Christine Knoer, Michelle Schurg of Ruthven.  University of South Dakota recipient is Sarah Knoer of Ruthven.

The Gene Leonard Memorial Scholarships are funded by a trust to provide financial assistance to northwest Palo Alto County and southwest Emmet County students planning to attend Iowa Lakes Community College or any other college.  Gene's love for people and desire to make a difference in young peoples' lives was motivation to make scholarships
available to students in the area of his residence.
