KROESE NAMED ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

 

An Iowa Lakes Community College softball player has been named ‘Athlete of the Week’ in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.

 

Tracee Kroese was named Female Athlete of the Week for the week of April 2.  Tracee is a pitcher for the Lakers and so far this season she has pitched 29 innings and has an ERA of 0.92.  This week Tracee had two wins and one loss while holding a 0.63 ERA and striking out 10 batters. 

 

Tracee does more than just pitch however, she also plays infield and leads the Lakers in almost every batting category.  In 8 games this week she hit .407 including 4 doubles and 1 triple.  She also scored 8 runs and stole six bases. 

 

Tracee is a sophomore at Iowa Lakes and is a native of Spirit Lake.

 

The Laker women are scheduled to play five games in the Morningside Tournament this weekend and then travel to Iowa Western in Council Bluffs for a doubleheader Sunday.
