CHICAGO’S FAMED SECOND CITY COMES TO IOWA LAKES

Chicago’s legendary comedy theatre The Second City will appear at Iowa Lakes Community College on the Estherville Campus, Sunday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. in the Iowa Lakes gymnasium.  The performance will feature some of the best sketches, songs and improvisations from Second City’s 40+ year history.

Founded in Chicago in 1959, The Second City has become the premier training ground for the comedy world’s best and brightest.  Their alumni list reads like a who’s who of American comedy, as it includes: Mike Nichols, Elaine May, Alan Arkin, Joan Rivers, Robert Klein, Peter Boyle, Harold Ramis, John Belushi, Jim Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, George Wendt, Martin Short, John Candy, Shelley Long, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, and countless others.

Not only will an evening with The Second City provide audiences with the chance to see comedy stars in the making, but they will also have the opportunity to see absolutely hilarious satire and cutting-edge improvisation.  No topic or subject matter is off limits for The Second City.

Tickets for The Second City are $10 (Iowa Lakes students are free with student I.D.) and can be purchased at the Estherville Campus Iowa Lakes Community College Bookstore at 800-242-5106, ext.111; or from Brian Radtke at 800-242-5106 Ext. 367 or 712-336-5637.  For more information please call 800-242-5106 ext 367.
