COLLEGE
RECEIVES AWARDS AT CONFERENCE
Iowa
Lakes Community College received two advertising awards at the
Region 5 National Conference for Marketing and Public Relation
professionals held in
West Des Moines
earlier this month.
The college was awarded a gold (1st place) award for a 30
second television advertisement. The ad, which was shot in August
of 2002, used a ‘Real World’ theme. Students featured in the ad
included Greg Behrens of Everly; Amber Call of Spencer; Tracee
Kroese of Spirit Lake; and Nathan Zwiefel of Estherville.
“We feel potential students identified with the theme, the fast moving
action clips and also the current students who talked about the
positive benefits of
Iowa
Lakes,” said Jane Campbell, Executive Director of Marketing at
Iowa Lakes Community College.
The TV ad was aired on KTIV-TV in
Sioux City; KIMT-TV in Mason City; Lakes Television of Spirit
Lake; plus several area cable channels.
The college also received a bronze (3rd place) award for a
30-second radio commercial. The same students who were featured
in the TV ad were highlighted in the radio ad. Both commercials
were shot and produced with ME&V, Mathis Earnest & Vandeventer,
and in house production company 23rd Century
Productions based in
Cedar Falls.
