PARTNERS OF RAGBRAI RECEIVE FUNDS FROM IOWA LAKES

RAGBRAI may have rolled out of Emmetsburg over a month ago, but groups in Emmetsburg are just now realizing the benefits of helping host the 12,000+ bikers.

Seven organizations have received checks totaling $5,500 for assisting with everything from selling ice – to bussing tables at RAGBRAI (the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa.)  In addition, two checks were written to benefit the community.

The Senior Fun and Wellness Day hosted in Emmetsburg annually by the Palo Alto County Health System and Iowa Lakes was the recipient of funds that will be used to pay for future keynote speakers.  The 4-H Junior Clippers, the high school wrestling team and the Emmetsburg swim team received funds.  At the college, the Hotel-Restaurant Management program will benefit as will the Business Professionals of America in both Emmetsburg and Spencer and the Welding club.

A donation was also made to the ‘track project’ at Emmetsburg High School as well as the Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce.

In addition, funds were designated for “RAGBRAI” scholarships at Iowa Lakes Community College.
