DAVIDSON’S Author Peter Davidson will present a seminar, How To Write A Children’s Picture Book, at the Spencer Center of Iowa Lakes Community College on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, November 5 and 6. This six-hour seminar will meet 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. each night. The seminar is for anyone who is interested in writing and/or illustrating children’s picture books for potential publication. Winona Community Education sponsors the seminar. Topics that will be presented include Definition Of A Children’s Picture Book, Developing An Idea, Plotting The Book, Writing The Book, Illustrating The Book, Typing The Manuscript, Copyrighting Your Work, Locating Potential Agents and Publishers, Marketing Your Work, and Contact Terms. Peter Davidson has authored 22 books, including eight children’s picture books, and has had many other types of works published. He has been published by McGraw-Hill Book Company, Perigee/Putnam Publishers, Haworth Press, and others. He has presented over 400 writer’s seminars, has appeared on over 80 radio and television programs nationwide, and has received several awards, including the prestigious Leavey Award.
