October 7, 2002 MARY MOHNI NAMED NEW Iowa Lakes Community College has a new Executive Dean of the Estherville Campus, pending approval by the Board of Trustees at their next meeting Oct. 22. Mary Mohni, of Hartley was selected following a two-day interview process. Mohni currently serves as the Director of Nursing Education and Coordinator of the Title III Grant at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon where she has been both an administrator and instructor for the past 14 years. She started at NCC as an adjunct instructor in the business department. Prior to that, she worked as an Outreach Director at Baum Harmon Hospital in Primghar and as an Assistant Administrator at Community Memorial Hospital in Hartley. She has also worked at Spencer Municipal Hospital as a surgery nurse. Mohni received her nursing education from Briar Cliff University and St. Joseph School of Nursing in Sioux City. She was awarded a bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake and a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota. In addition, Mohni has taken numerous post-graduate courses from various institutions. According to Dr. Rick Underbakke, Chief Academic Officer at Iowa Lakes, “I was impressed with Mary’s background and skills as both a faculty member and an administrator. She is a good problem solver and will be an asset to the Estherville Campus and Iowa Lakes Community College.” Mohni will assume her duties on January 2, 2003. |
