POPULAR BAND TO PERFORM AT IOWA LAKES

The Crash Band will make an appearance at Iowa Lakes Community College next week.

The group, which is a ‘tribute band’ to the Dave Matthews Band, will appear Thursday, Oct. 24 starting at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium at the Estherville Campus.  Iowa Lakes students with a college I.D. will be admitted free.  Others will be charged $3 per person or $5 per couple.  The event is sponsored by the Estherville Campus Student Senate.

The five-member band from Illinois, is dedicated to the re-creation of the sound and feel of the Dave Matthews Band.  Their sound is so close to the original band, that it has been reported that a few members of Dave Matthews’ band heard Crash and thought someone was playing their own CDs.  Crashes’ greatest honor so far was being invited to play before Dave Matthews’ home town of Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2000.

The public is encouraged to attend.  Participants will be able to dance or just enjoy the band.
