IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE FACULTY HONORED

An Iowa Lakes faculty person was honored at the recent 2002 Iowa Tourism Conference with a TEAM leader award. Renee Jedlicka, professor of the Tourism Management program was presented with a Tourism Enhancement and Marketing (TEAM) Iowa Leader award. She was one of the 16 tourism professionals honored by C.J. Niles, Iowa Department of Economic Development Director.

TEAM Iowa Leaders are required to attend tourism-oriented education seminars and conferences, have membership in their own tourism region and at least one other tourism organization, serve as mentors to a new member of the tourism industry, and assist with a community outreach project.

Professor Jedlicka has coordinated the Tourism Management Program the past 13 years.  She holds a B.A. from Loras College and an M.A. from Mankato State University.

The Tourism Management Program is the only program of its kind in Iowa. This program is planning a trip to London, England over spring break in 2003.
