IOWA LAKES SOFTBALL SIGNS FOLLMER FOR 2003 SEASON

Iowa Lakes Community College Head Softball Coach Mike Bosch has announced the signing of Como Park pitcher Sarah Follmer to National Junior College letter of intent.

Follmer was named to the Minneapolis Star Tribune all-metro team last season after she compiled an 18-5 record (with six no-hitters) with 240 strikeouts and 0.41 ERA.  Follmer is a three time St. Paul City All-Conference selection, a two time Minnesota All-State selection and was a Prep Athlete of the Week this past season for KARE 11.

“Sarah brings a lot to our team next season,” commented Coach Bosch, “she has the ability to keep you in games with her arm and we look forward to seeing her throw for Iowa Lakes.  She is also part of the deepest freshman class that we have had in five years, so we are definitely excited to see what the fall brings for Laker softball.”

Follmer joins Abby Schmidt of Worthington, Katie Grave of Spencer, Abby Anderson of Estherville, Christina Schneider of Estherville, Mary Hinshaw of Okoboji, Cassie Slagerman of Stacy, MN., Kristin Hammen of Rockwell City, and North Dakota State transfer Kristi Henrichsen as additions to a Laker team that went 27-21-1 last season and finished fourth in the region.
