IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE
ANNOUNCES
RELEASE OF NEW SCHOLARSHIP BOOKLETS
Iowa Lakes Community College has announced the release of the 2003 – 2004
Iowa Lakes Community College Scholarship Opportunities Booklet.
“It seems to be an appropriate time of year to remind the students of the
scholarships offered, as a scholarship is a tremendous gift,” Tammy
Higgins. Continuing one’s education can be
a luxury financially unobtainable for some families; assistance from
scholarship dollars helps them achieve their academic goals.
Iowa Lakes Community
College administers and awards 55+ scholarships to deserving Iowa Lakes
students. As a result of reductions in funding for higher education,
scholarships have become even more important for students.
“These scholarships are
made possible due to Iowa Lakes employees, area businesses, service clubs,
families and individuals who have so generously stepped forward to provide
support,” Higgins said.
Iowa Lakes scholarships
have criteria ranging from academic, program and residence to need based and
each Iowa Lakes student qualifies for a minimum of four.
The new scholarship booklet lists the scholarships currently available along
with their criteria and details for the application process. Applicants
will find the Scholarship Opportunities Booklet at each of Iowa Lakes
Campuses/Centers or on the college web site at
www.iowalakes.edu. Students are encouraged to complete their
scholarship application along with their FAFSA (Federal Application for
Financial Student Assistance) as early as possible in the new year to
expedite processing.
Those interested in applying for this or other Iowa Lakes Community
College Scholarships or those wishing to establish a scholarship are
asked to contact Beth Kraft at the Iowa Lakes Community College Institutional Advancement/Foundations Office at 712-362-0410 or 800-242-5106 Ext. 410 or e-mail
