December 20, 2002 SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED IN
MEMORY OF LONGTIME A scholarship has been established at Iowa Lakes in memory of one of its longtime professors. For 33 years, Dennis Hageman enriched the lives of students at Iowa Lakes Community College. He taught mainly at the Estherville Campus from 1967 until his retirement in 2000. Hageman served in a wide variety of capacities in the Social Sciences Department at Iowa Lakes Community College such as Counselor, Department Chair, Professor and Summer School Coordinator. In June of 2000, he retired from Iowa Lakes to pursue many of the outdoor activities he loved. Through the years, Hageman also worked part time for the Department of Natural Resources. He passed away this past October. “Family members and friends of Dennis have chosen to acknowledge his devotion to education and students by establishing an endowed scholarship at Iowa Lakes Community College that will keep his memory alive while impacting students,” said Tammy Higgins, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement. The Dennis Hageman Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to any student
planning to transfer to a four-year university who possesses and maintains a
3.0 GPA and shows financial need. The Institutional Advancement/Foundations
Office will administer the Dennis Hageman Memorial Scholarship. If
