IOWA LAKES PROFESSOR ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE IOWA DEVELOPMENTAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION

An Iowa Lakes Community College professor has been named to a leadership role in a statewide organization. At the recent Iowa Developmental Education Association (IDEA) meeting in Pella, Iowa, Colleen Peltz was elected president-elect of the organization. 

IDEA is the professional organization for developmental educators in Iowa.  The goals of the organization include providing professional development,  supporting student learning, providing public leadership, disseminating exemplary models of practice, coordinating efforts with other organizations, facilitating communication among developmental education professionals, and anticipating trends. 

Peltz along with Iowa Lakes instructor, Lynn Dodge, were presenters at this year's conference which was attended by 50 developmental educators.
