The 26th Annual Youth Basketball Camp at Iowa Lakes Community College is next week.
Athletics Director and Men’s Basketball Coach Troy Larson says the camp will be held in the college gymnasium at the Estherville campus starting Monday, June 16 through June 19.
Registrations are still being taken for both the morning and afternoon camps.
The morning session is for students entering fifth through eighth grade and runs from 9 a.m. until noon with registration beginning at 8 a.m. The afternoon session will be from 1-4 p.m. for participants entering grades Kindergarten through fourth grade. Both girl and boy campers are welcome to attend.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to visit the college website and click on Laker Athletics near the top of the screen and then Athletic Camps on the left to print out a brochure. A completed form will help speed up registration. (Or click here for brochure.)
Sessions will be held indoors.
“Our facilities are air conditioned and are very nice for the camp,” said Troy Larson, Athletics Director and Head Men’s Basketball Coach for the Lakers.
The camp staff includes coaches from Iowa Lakes Community College as well as outstanding high school coaches from around the state of Iowa. Former and current Iowa Lakes players will also play an active role in the camp.
The cost is $65 per camper. The fee includes a free camp T-shirt, awards and daily give-a-ways as well as instruction on the fundamentals of basketball from outstanding coaches. For additional information or to request a registration, contact Alex Tyrrell at 712-362-8343.
