Nearly 160 students will graduate at the end of the summer term at Iowa Lakes Community College.
Commencement exercises are Friday, July 26 with the ceremony starting at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium at the Emmetsburg Campus.
Keynote speaker this year is Andrea Garrison, Estherville, who graduates with an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Nursing. She will be introduced by Martha Olson, Associate Professor.
Attendees are welcomed by College President Valerie Newhouse; Janice Lund, President of the Board of Trustees acknowledges the Trustees; Julie Williams, Executive Dean of Students, announces the Second Annual Kibbie Outstanding Service Awards; and, Mark Gruwell, Executive Dean of Instruction and Development, leads the Special Recognition section as well as the Presidential Scholars recognition.
A Commendable Service Award will be presented by the Student Senate; Gruwell will return to the podium to offer the Presentation of the Candidates; Pat Kibbie, vice president of the Board of Trustees will confer the degrees and diplomas; and, Laure Miller and Martha Olson, Associate Professors, will read the roll call of candidates. President Newhouse will present the Diplomas.
Tom Brotherton, Emmetsburg Campus Executive Dean, along with Scott Stokes, Estherville Campus Executive Dean, will escort the graduates.
Following the ceremony, everyone is cordially invited to attend a reception in honor of the graduates.
