English as a Second Language (ESL) classes will be offered by Iowa Lakes Community College this spring in Spencer and Estherville.
The classes are free, although there is a charge for books students may purchase.
In Spencer, the class will meet Monday and Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. until noon at the Grace United Methodist Church. The first class begins Jan. 14 and ends May 15.
There will also be an evening class which will meet at the Spencer campus of Iowa Lakes Community College on Wednesdays, 6-8 p.m. The first evening class begins Jan. 16 and ends May 15. Class registration and orientation for both of these classes will be at the Spencer campus of Iowa Lakes Community College on Jan. 9, from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. and 6-8 p.m.
In Estherville, the class will meet Monday and Wednesday, 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. for beginning English and 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. for intermediate English in the Success Center at the Estherville campus of Iowa Lakes. The first class begins Jan. 14 and ends May 1.
Class registration and orientation will be at the Success Center (room 6) at the Estherville campus of Iowa Lakes Community College on Jan. 9, from 5-6 p.m.
These multilevel classes are for anyone, whose first language is not English, who would like to learn or improve their English speaking, reading, writing and listening skills.

Also, adults may use Rosetta Stone computer software to learn or improve English skills in any Success Center on any campus of Iowa Lakes Community College. Hours and availability will vary at each campus in Algona, Emmetsburg, Estherville, Spencer and Spirit Lake.
