Blue Zones Project™ officially announced Tuesday that the Spencer campus of Iowa Lakes Community College is a designated Blue Zones Project Worksite™.
The campus achieved designation status on July 26, 2013, after completing the necessary items in the Blue Zones Project™ worksite pledge, including enforcing policies and practices that ensure privacy and security of personal data and health information, communicating ideas and information about well-being, offering a health and wellness program and successfully registering their employees to pledge and take action on www.bluezonesproject.com.
“Iowa Lakes is conscious of the need for both employee and environmental well-being,” said Mary Faber, Spencer Campus Director. “Becoming a designated Blue Zones Worksite™ is not only a reward for the hard work and dedication of our employees, but represents their commitment to powering the future through sustainability and education.”
Iowa Lakes completed designation criteria in the areas of leadership, purpose, habitat and physical environment, engagement and creation of social networks, policies and benefits, and well-being solutions.
