The Powersports and Power Equipment Technology program at Iowa Lakes Community College — which focuses on repair of not just motorcycles, but also snowmobiles, personal watercraft, ATVs and lawn equipment — has been listed as the 15th best in the nation.
The website Mechanics Schools, located at mechanics-schools.com, listed the powersports program at no. 15, noting its inexpensive tuition, safe location and multiple options for its mechanic programs.
“We’ve got a lot of equipment in here, and we keep adding more and more stuff all the time,” said Assistant Professor Matt Bohl of the facilities at Iowa Lakes.
At Iowa Lakes, students can earn a diploma or an Associate in Applied Science degree as part of the powersports program. They can also choose to focus on advanced business management or on advanced motorcycle and small engine repair.
