The 33rd Annual Iowa Lakes Community College Reggie Schive Summer Jazz Camp will be held on the Estherville campus June 9-13.
The camp includes five fun-filled, exciting and educationally packed days with some of the finest jazz educators in the country. Students in grades seven through college and older will have the opportunity to study in private lessons, combos and big bands, improvisation, theory and software; as well as listen to the headliners’ jazz mastery during master classes and evening concerts.
“The Headliners and staff of the University of Okoboji Summer Jazz Camp truly believe in what they do and strive to teach and share with students their years of knowledge and experience,” said Carol Ayres, Camp Organizer and Professor at Iowa Lakes.
Headliners include Tony and Joey Gulizia, Roger Neumann, Andy Hall, CJ Kocher, Michael Gurciullo, Dan Cassidy, and Scott Hesse who hail from and perform everywhere from Los Angeles to New York City.
The Iowa Lakes Community College Music Department in Estherville will be hosting the main part of the camp. This location provides students with air-conditioning in rehearsal rooms, dorm rooms and the student center. The students' week-long study culminates in two performances on Thursday.
The Headliners will perform Monday-Thursday evenings featuring many different styles of music: Big Band, Contemporary, Latin, Dixie Land and more. Come and enjoy one or all of them! The concert schedule is available at www.iowalakes.edu/music/jazz_camp.
