Iowa Lakes Community College and the Wind Energy and Turbine Technology program are opening their arms to welcome some special dignitaries from the Republic of Turkey later this month.
Expected at the visit are Alparslan KAVALIOGLU, Congressman, who is a member of the Internal Affairs Commission; another Congressman who is a member of the Energy and Natural Resources Commission; a high ranking official from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources; and Yavuz KAVAKLIOGLU, Director of Nigde-Bor Industrial Zone. The VIPs will tour the Iowa Lakes Wind Energy and Turbine Technology facility and visit with faculty and students.
Ethan Hunter, Iowa Lakes Wind Energy student, is a co-founder of Renewable Energy Systems, LLC, with Erol GUNALAN, of Antalya, Turkey. Hunter will complete the Wind Energy and Turbine Technology program, earning an Associate in Applied Science degree in May, 2013.
Hunter has been working on travel arrangements and organizing this visit for nearly a year. He is looking forward to hosting these dignitaries in Estherville and to show them the wide array of options while exploring the establishment of a Wind Academy in Turkey.
The Iowa Lakes Wind Energy and Turbine Technology program is one of the first programs in the nation to earn the American Wind Energy Association Seal of Approval.
The dignitaries plan to arrive in New York on March 23, where they will visit and tour Hunter’s New York Office, and they arrive in Estherville on Monday, March 25.
