The 27th Annual Fun and Wellness Day planned in Emmetsburg is rapidly approaching.
The Fun and Wellness Day is held annually and features a day of activities, health screenings, workshops and entertainment for those 50 years and better. This year’s keynote speaker is Dan Kaercher, retired founding editor-in-chief of Midwest Living magazine and Iowa Public Television host. He spent years traveling in almost every one of Iowa’s 99 counties in search of close-to-home attractions and getaways to share with his loyal readers and viewers.
The event will be held at Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg on Wednesday, May 14. Doors open at 7:45 a.m. for registration, continental breakfast and display booths. Participants are encouraged to park in the lot northeast of the main campus building. Those desiring assistance from the parking lot may get a ride from morning golf cart escorts.
There is no advance registration. Cost is $10 at the door and includes break-out sessions, continental breakfast, and a roast beef dinner with all the ‘trimmings’ for lunch.
The Fun and Wellness Day is sponsored by Iowa Lakes Community College and the Palo Alto County Health System.
