Cast Announced For Spring Musical at Iowa Lakes

February 15, 2012

The cast for the community production of Cinderella (Enchanted Edition) will include over 40 actors and actresses, including college students, adults, and children from northwest Iowa and Minnesota.

“The cast is a wonderful mix of seasoned performers as well as brand new talent taking to our stage for the first time,” said Carol Ayres, Professor of Music. “We had many very talented singers and actors audition for this musical. We are very lucky to live in an area that has such a wealth of incredible performers!”

Cinderella is being played by Sydney Krenz, an Iowa Lakes Community College student from Truman, Minn. Sydney is an experienced actress having played the lead role in several high school musicals.

Prince Charming, or Christopher in this production, will be played by Samuel Cross, another Iowa Lakes Community College student from St. Paul, Minn. Blaine Connor, an Iowa Lakes Community College student from Platt City, Mo., will play the part of Lionel, Prince Christopher’s loyal royal steward.

The Fairy Godmother, played by Jeannene Larson (Estherville), has a beautiful voice and will bring lots of energy to our stage. Queen Constantina, played by Barb Nissen (Estherville) and King Maximillian, played by Dr. Rick Erbes (Estherville) are also talented singers and experienced actors.

For those interested in the comical side of the production, the all too familiar ‘evil’ stepfamily will leave the audience in stitches. Cinderella’s Stepmother will be played by Micki Bradburn (Estherville), and her two stepdaughters Grace, the awkward one, played by Trish Morfitt (Estherville) and Joy, the bad-tempered one, played by Amy Condon (Estherville).
