The cast for the community production of Cinderella (Enchanted Edition) will include over 40 actors and actresses, including college students, adults, and children from northwest Iowa and Minnesota.
“The cast is a wonderful mix of seasoned performers as well as brand new talent taking to our stage for the first time,” said Carol Ayres, Professor of Music. “We had many very talented singers and actors audition for this musical. We are very lucky to live in an area that has such a wealth of incredible performers!”
Cinderella is being played by Sydney Krenz, an Iowa Lakes Community College student from Truman, Minn. Sydney is an experienced actress having played the lead role in several high school musicals.
Prince Charming, or Christopher in this production, will be played by Samuel Cross, another Iowa Lakes Community College student from St. Paul, Minn. Blaine Connor, an Iowa Lakes Community College student from Platt City, Mo., will play the part of Lionel, Prince Christopher’s loyal royal steward.
The Fairy Godmother, played by Jeannene Larson (Estherville), has a beautiful voice and will bring lots of energy to our stage. Queen Constantina, played by Barb Nissen (Estherville) and King Maximillian, played by Dr. Rick Erbes (Estherville) are also talented singers and experienced actors.
For those interested in the comical side of the production, the all too familiar ‘evil’ stepfamily will leave the audience in stitches. Cinderella’s Stepmother will be played by Micki Bradburn (Estherville), and her two stepdaughters Grace, the awkward one, played by Trish Morfitt (Estherville) and Joy, the bad-tempered one, played by Amy Condon (Estherville).
Students playing mice, cats, dogs and villagers include: Aidan Bauermeister (Spirit Lake), Savannah Dare (Estherville), Lexi Duffy (Spirit Lake), Anna Fuelberth (Spirit Lake), Leshia Klein (Estherville), Ethan Marth (Estherville), Ruth Marth (Estherville), Declan McCreary (Spencer), Adrienne Rosfjord (Estherville), and Hollie Sindt (Estherville).
Iowa Lakes Community College students Nick Anderson (Hopkins, Minn.), Justin Booth (Estherville), Kailey Boyd (Fairmont, Minn.), Megan Hanna (Wallingford), Becky Hansen (Estherville), Magi Hoy (Spencer), Spencer Jensen (Estherville), Matt Johnson (Fairbank), Cassie McCreary (Spencer), Sun Mudiavita (Congo, South Africa), Sara Mukaz (Congo, South Africa), Aziley Smith (Trimont, Minn.), Jake Stubbs (Emmetsburg), Tanya Sutton (George), Devin Warburton (Fennimore, Wis.), and Tonya Wiederhoeft (Truman, Minn.) are together with community members Jerry Baas (Armstrong), Marian Brunsvold (Spirit Lake), Lisa Duffy (Spirit Lake), Randy Marks (Estherville), Jim Miller (Spirit Lake), Paula Miller (Spirit Lake), Sarah Morphew (Estherville), Doug Stueven (Spirit Lake), David Swanson (Spirit Lake), Caitlin Weber (Estherville), and Deb Weston (Estherville), filling the roles Villagers, Merchants, Maidens and Palace Guests. Accompanying the vocalists is a complete pit orchestra comprised of Iowa Lakes Community College students and community members.
Cinderella (Enchanted Edition) will be performed March 29, 30, 31 in the Iowa Lakes Community College Estherville gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.
Cinderella (Enchanted Edition) adapted for the Stage by Tom Briggs from the Teleplay by Robert L. Freedman with music by Richard Rodgers and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. It is presented through special arrangements with the Rodgers and Hammerstein Theatre Library in New York.
