Letter to Directors

Dear Jazz Band Director,

It is my pleasure to invite your jazz band to participate in the 38th Annual Iowa Lakes Community College Jazz Band Contest/Clinic.  The contest/clinic will be held on Wednesday, January 25 and Thursday, January 26, 2012.  The Iowa High School Music Association sanctions this contest.

Based on your requests, we will be keeping the format we established last year.  We will have 30 minute time slots for each band.  After you perform, one of the judges will work with your band for the reminder of the 30 minute time slot. 

We will be using one performance/clinic center each day.  Class 1A and 3A on Wednesday, January 25; and Class 2A and 4A on Thursday, January 26.  Please register as soon as possible to ensure a spot in the competition.  All entries must be received by January 3, 2012.
