Johnathan Jordan

Coach Johnathan Jordan, a native from Holland, Michigan, received his B.S. degree from Albion College majoring in Political Science and Philosophy. He also completed his M.A. degree in Sports Administration and Adaptive P.E. from the University of South Dakota. As a collegiate athlete, Jordan was a two-year letter winner in both swimming and diving at Albion College.
Before arriving at Iowa Lakes, Jordan was a graduate assistant coach for the University of South Dakota’s Swimming and Diving Team. As Assistant Swim Coach (Graduate Assistant) at USD, he helped transition the team from Division II to Division I status. His other responsibilities included conducting workouts, arranging travel needs and serving as a recruiter. Jordan also served as the head water polo coach at Albion College where he started a new men’s and women’s club program for the school.
In the Lakers first season, Coach Jordan and the Laker Men and Women have achieved several accomplishments:
- Men’s team 2nd place regional finish
- Men’s team 9th place National Finish
- 8 All-Americans
Mike Smiechowski
Mike Smiechowski comes to Iowa Lakes from Apex, North Carolina. Mike brings 13 years of competitive swimming experience to Iowa Lakes, including 4 years swimming at the Division 1 level.
As a collegiate athlete Smiechowski was a 4 year letter winner at Niagara University and UNCW respectively. At Wilmington, Mike helped lead the team to 3 straight CAA conference championships, and left as a senior captain helping the Seahawks to a conference record 11 straight CAA championships. Smiechowski also ranks in the top 10 all time in three events at UCNW and 4 events at Niagara.
Smiechowski earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
