Miranda Anderson
Swimming & Diving Head Coach Miranda Anderson fell in love with the water at an early age and started competitive swimming at age 7.

She grew up in Lakeville and Fergus Falls, Minn., and attended Fergus Falls Senior High School. She was a three-sport athlete but excelled in the pool going to the State Meet all four years, earning All-Conference honors, and becoming a Section Champion in the 500 Freestyle.

Coach Anderson attended Alma College (NCAA Div. III) in Alma, Mich., receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Strategic and Public Communication (2014). At Alma, she was a three-sport athlete in Swim (4 years), Lacrosse (3 years) and Bowling (1 year). As a swimmer she was named to the All-MIAA (all conference) team twice, earned Honorable Mention Academic All-American honors, broke six college records, and served as a team captain her senior year.

After graduating, Miranda secured an assistant coach job at (NAIA) Lindsey Wilson College as well as a co-head coach job of the Blue Raider Aquatic Club while getting a Master of Business Administration degree in Sports Management from the University of the Southwest (2015).

She continues to be active in the sport. Before starting at Iowa Lakes, she swam in a 36-mile river race placing 8th overall and also competed in the Flathead Lake Swim Series taking first in her age group for the ½ mile, 1 mile, 5K, and 10K races.

Coach Anderson is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sports Management through Northcentral University (NCU).
