Women's Golf

The Iowa Lakes Women’s Golf Team has a great tradition of success. In 2009 the Laker Women were crowned the Region XI champions. The team has been ranked consistently in the top 18 in the Nation for the last 5 years.  Coached by Andy Soper, who is entering his second year as head coach, the Lakers' hard work both on the course and in the classroom have contributed to the large amount of success the program has had.

Since 2007, the Lakers have had 19 all region performers, a two-time Ping and NJCAA All-American, and 25 Academic All-Region performers. Highlights in that time were the 2009 women’s team having the 3rd highest team GPA in the Nation. Scott Benson from Jackson, MN earning a Division 1 scholarship to Alabama State while winning the Region XI tournament individually as a freshman.   In the past 4 years, 8 Lakers have continued their academic / golf careers at four-year institutions ranging from NCAA Division I, II, III as well as NAIA.
