The Iowa Lakes Community College Women’s Cross Country team earned a spot in the NJCAA Div. 1 top 25 poll for the second consecutive week. The Lakers are now ranked 25th in the nation, dropping 4 spots from last week.
“This is the first time we have ever been ranked 2 weeks in a row,” said Head Coach Molly Struve. “Our women's team has really been running strong; they are working hard in practice and it's showing in the meets.”
The Lakers are still trying to piece together some of the puzzle.
“Last weekend we were without Sydney Park, due to injury, who is typically our second best runner, we have also added another runner, Ashley Weston, to our lineup,” said Struve. “Once all of our runners are able to compete, we have the potential to stay in the rankings for a while.”
The Lakers Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams will be back in action Saturday Sept. 15 at the Iowa Intercollegiate Meet in Ames, IA.
