The Iowa Lakes Community College head women’s basketball coach Nicole Bullock is proud to announce the signing of Alissa Johnson. she will be joining the Laker basketball program this fall.
Johnson, a 5-foot-7-inch guard from South Division High School in Milwaukee, Wis., was selected first team All-Conference four years; named team MVP four years; two-time player of the year in the conference (sophomore and senior); and Honorable All-State as a sophomore. She was named Milwaukee Journal Sentinel player of the week three times and earned All-Area Honorable mention.
Johnson averaged 19.1 points per game, 10 assists per game and 7 rebounds per game. These numbers helped make Alissa her high school’s all-time leading scorer beating Terry Porter by 11 points. She has over 1,000 career points and 700 career assists.
“The addition of Alissa to our team is very exciting. She brings quickness, leadership, and an aggressive defensive presence,” Coach Bullock said. “We are extremely happy to have her join our program.”
Johnson also competed in tennis and softball during her time at SDHS. She was named first team All-Conference in tennis.
Alissa is the daughter of Brenda Bailey and the late Darryl K. Johnson Sr. She is planning to major in Criminal Justice at Iowa Lakes.
