The Iowa Lakes Community College head women’s basketball coach Nicole Bullock is honored to have Shelby Corbin join the Laker basketball program for the 2014-1015 season.
Corbin, a 5-foot-8-inch point guard from Minneota, Minn., was selected to the All-Conference team as a junior and a senior; named team’s Hardest Worker and Most Valuable Defensive Player; was a team captain for two seasons; a starter for 3 team state appearances; 2013 State Champions; 2014 State Runner-ups, and helped compile a total record of 91-6 as a starter for the Vikings.
“We are so thrilled to have Shelby be a part of our program. She is great at controlling the floor and will bring instant leadership and toughness to our program,” Bullock stated. “Her ability to push the ball and defend fills a major void we have had in the past. She also has the talent to lead a group and run an offense which will make us really tough to play against.”
Corbin also competed in volleyball in high school. Her team had back-to-back-to-back state appearances, placing as high as third. She was named team captain as a senior.
Shelby is the daughter of Clark and Jena Corbin. She is planning to major in Special education at Iowa Lakes.
