Five Iowa Lakes Community College baseball athletes were named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Division II Baseball All-Region teams.
Sophomore infielder Tanner Johnson was named to ICCAC All-Region first team. Freshman catcher Blake Rogers was named to second team ICCAC All-Region. Sophomore pitcher Jesus Briton, freshman infielder Sean Alp and freshman outfielder Hecmart Nieves were named honorable mention All-Region.
Johnson, from Oak Creek, Wis., had a .384 batting average, 28 hits on 73 at bats including 6 doubles and 1 home run, 16 runs scored and 16 RBI’s.
Rogers, from Worthington, Minn., had a .369 batting average, .475 on base percentage, 24 hits on 65 at bats with 5 doubles and 1 triple. He was walked 10 times and had 14 RBI’s.
Brito, from Bronx, N.Y., started in 6 games accumulating a 3-3 record while finishing 3 complete games. He threw 41.2 innings with a 3.46 earned run average.
Alp, from Mississsauga, Ontario, Canada, had a .330 batting average, 8 RBI’s, 18 runs scored and 5 stolen bases.
Nieves, from Juncos, Puerto Rico, had a .326 batting average, 9 RBI’s, 9 runs scored, 6 walks and 4 stolen bases.
Head Coach Jason Nell led the Lakers to a 19-23 overall record for the year.
