The Iowa Lakes Community College Men’s Basketball team, now ranked 10th in the nation, will host the Kirkwood Eagles (11-8 overall, 3-1 conference) Saturday, Jan. 19 at 3 pm.
Head Coach Troy Larson is not taking the game lightly.
"We understand that they are one of the better teams in the league," Larson said. "They have very good players and are well coached."
Iowa Lakes is coming into the game with a 11-4 overall record, 4-1 in conference play. The Lakers have been utilizing a complete team effort to win games. Four players are averaging double digit scoring, the team is out rebounding opponents by 7 per game, and they are holding conference teams to a measly 34% shooting from the field.
Coach Larson believes playing this game at home will help the Lakers.
"It is a big league game," he said. "Our guys are excited to play Kirkwood in front of an electrified home crowd."
Admission is $5 for adults. K-12 students are admitted free of charge.
