Men's Baseball

With Coach Nell at the helm the Iowa Lakes baseball team continues to strive to build a winning tradition.  In his 10th season as the head coach for the Lakers, Nell has produced 264 wins highlighted by 2-30 win seasons that included a 33-23 record in 2010. Jason brings a hardnosed style of play to the baseball field that has led to the Lakers success.

In addition, Coach Nell has also worked for the Mankato Moondogs and the Waterloo Bucks of the Northwoods League. The league is regarded as the one of the best summer collegiate leagues in the nation. There Jason is 6th all-time in wins and has coached 38 players drafted by the MLB.

During Coach Nell’s tenure, the Lakers have produced 5 All-Americans, 3 Academic All-Americans, and 31 All-Region selections. As well as these honors, the Lakers have sent 51 players to continue their baseball careers at different NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA programs.
