David Benz Motorcycle Scholarship Awarded

October 9, 2012

The David Benz Motorcycle scholarship was established in 2012 by Jody and Tony Condon to honor Jody’s father and his passion for motorcycles. David Benz had his first experience with motorcycling in 1960. Since then he has owned and ridden many motorcycles. Due to a hunting accident he lost his leg and needed to find a new career. In 1980 he enrolled in the Motorcycle and Small Engine Program at Iowa Lakes Community College. Over the years he has been employed working on motorcycles, small tractors, and cars. Benz’s passion for the motorcycle industry continues. Requirements for this scholarship include enrollment in the Motorcycle and Small Engine Technology Program as a full time student. The scholarship can be used for tuition, books, fees, or tools.

The 2012-13 recipient is Daniel Elings of Atlantic.
