The Arthur and Elva Yates Memorial Scholarship was established at Iowa Lakes Community College in 1998 by daughter, Edna Webster, of Estherville. Edna wished to encourage students to pursue educational opportunities at Iowa Lakes and beyond. Requirements include full-time enrollment as second year sophomore as of the upcoming fall semester, minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and after Iowa Lakes graduation plans to transfer to four-year institution for bachelor’s degree. Preference may be given to students permanently residing in Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth or Palo Alto counties.
The 2012-13 recipients are Erin Kirchner and Ashley Weston of Estherville.
