At Iowa Lakes, several measures
have been established to deal with asbestos containing
materials. The college's fundamental policy is to manage
asbestos in place and this method is currently
encouraged by the EPA. This process involves locating
and assessing the condition of all asbestos containing
material. Decisions on maintenance, repair, or removal
of the material are made based on this assessment,
change in occupancy, or construction requirements. The
