Associate of Arts (AA) degree
Courses in an AA degree are evaluated on a course-by-course basis and applied to the requirements at the University of South Dakota. The AA degree may not meet the general education requirements at USD.

Individual Courses
A course-by-course guide is available indicating how Iowa Lakes Community College courses are accepted at the University of South Dakota. This is available in an advisor or counselor office at Iowa Lakes Community College.

You may go to the University of South Dakota website to use the "Equivalency Calculator."

Additional Information

It is important to use the course guide in planning to meet the general education requirements in order to match the USD courses.

The mathematics requirement at USD:
The Bachelor of Arts requires 7 credits and the Bachelor of Science requires 11 hours of math. Elem. Alg. (MAT100) and Math for G.E. (MAT110) are not accepted for meeting the math requirement. Intermediate Algebra (MAT102) is only accepted if taken with College Algebra (MAT120).

The science requirement at USD is a sequence of courses. For example, at Iowa Lakes taking Biol. I and II or Phys Sci. I and II would meet the requirement.

Students transferring to the College of Business can obtain a planning sheet from an advisor or counselor office. Also see the TRANSFER PLANNING BY MAJOR  web page.
