Safety and security are two of the most important issues in the world today. And the safest and most secure vehicle in the world is the yellow school bus. And it’s not just the bus that makes for this achievement of safety, but also the driver. Knowing the dangers surrounding the school bus and how to deal with those dangers are what make for a safety conscious driver. And the safer the driver, the safer and more secure the bus will be!

This course will help prepare new school bus drivers for their role in helping to keep the children safe while riding on a school bus. Objectives include learning rules and regulations, safe driving practices, passenger control, emergency first aid, accident and emergency procedures, route hazard identification, loading and unloading procedures, and dealing with danger zones, route hazards, and pre/post trip inspections.
Students must first complete the on-line portion of the course and will then attend the face-to-face portion of the course, which is one 3-hour session. To register for the online portion of the class, please call 1-800-252-5664 or 712-362-7231 and use Course #38036.
