Coaching Authorization Class
Course #: 52184
This non-credit online course fulfills the requirements for a coaching authorization certificate, which is required for anyone coaching at the junior high or high school level. Participants will learn about athletic development, theory of coaching, athletic injury prevention as well as body structure and function. Individuals who pass this class may apply to the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners to receive a Coaching Authorization certificate which is good for five years. Minnesota residents may also take this course. You may begin the course at any time.
Additional Course Information:
You will need some taping supplies in order to tape an ankle and 3 other body parts, how much depends on how much practicing you do.
The class is on line and self-paced. It should not take longer than 6-8 weeks to complete.
There are assignments and tests in each section of the course, you need to get at least 60% to pass each section.
You will get a certificate upon successfully completing each section of the course to send to BOEE when you apply for your license.

The cost of the full class is $440 plus $15 online fee.
