Continuing Education

Iowa Lakes Community College, through its Continuing Education division, works with many industries, communities, and local schools to provide appropriate training and education. Continuing Education provides short courses, programs, seminars and community service activities in a timely manner. An important characteristic of this department is the ability to respond quickly to demands of the community.
Courses are offered on a variety of topics and in a variety of fields. They can be offered as non-credit, Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and some courses are also offered for college credit. These programs can provide preparatory training, can be used for upgrading job skills and for enriching oneself. They are available to all residents who want, need and can benefit from such training.
If you have been wanting to take college credit courses, but found you had difficulty because classes were offered only during the day or at a site too far away, Iowa Lakes can help you solve these problems. You can enroll in college credit classes evenings, weekends or even online. You can even earn an Associate in Arts degree.
Have any ideas for courses? Does your business need specialized training?
If so, please call our Continuing Education office at 712-362-7231. To set up a course, a minimum of 8 students must register and a qualified instructor must be identified.
