The Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation and the Spirit Lake Campus annually host a fundraising event specifically for Dickinson County student scholarships.  The 2008 event is a tropically inspired luau at the Barefoot Bar (Parks Marina) in Okoboji, Iowa. The evening will include a meal catered by Oak Tree Bar-B-Que, karaoke by Big Nacho, a raffle, and a silent auction.

Raffle items will consist of a $1000 travel voucher from Sunset Travel and a 42” Plasma Panasonic TV from Melanders TV & Appliance.  Raffle tickets are $20 or 3 for $50 and can be purchased at the Iowa Lakes Spirit Lake Campus, OakTree BBQ, Barefoot Bar, Melanders TV & Appliance, or by calling 1-800-242-5106 ext. 4425.  Winner will be announced at the event, need not be present to win.

The Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation and the Spencer Campus annually host this golf outing to raise scholarship money specifically for Clay County students attending Iowa Lakes.  The 2008 event will be held at the Spencer Municipal Golf Course in Spencer, Iowa.  Registration begins at 11:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12:00 p.m. (noon).

This year, the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation and the Laker Athletics Department will host a social following the annual Linda Heldt Memorial Laker Scholarship Golf Outing.  The social will be at the Elks in Estherville and feature appetizers, a silent auction and a guest appearance by Tom Brands, University of Iowa head wrestling coach and Olympic gold medalist. Golfer registration fees include the one ticket to the social, additional tickets are $25 and may be purchased at the door or by calling 1-800-242-5106 ext 4425.

The motorcycle Scholarship Poker Ride is held annually to raise scholarship funds for Iowa Lakes’ students.  Numerous community members, employees and students of Iowa Lakes Community College participate in the ride.  Funds for the scholarships are raised through rider's donations and through the support of local businesses. Registration will be held at the Algona Campus from 8-9 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Estherville Campus. Prizes will be awarded at 1:00 p.m. at the Estherville Campus.

Raffle tickets are being sold in conjunction with the Algona HOG Chapter to win a Snap-on tool storage. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at any Iowa Lakes Campus or call 1-800-242-5106 Ext. 4425.
