The deadline for scholarship applications at Iowa Lakes Community College for the upcoming 2013-2014 academic year is rapidly approaching.
Students are advised that to be considered for scholarships at Iowa Lakes, they are required to complete an online scholarship application which includes submitting the completed form as well as securing two online recommendations no later than 11:59 p.m., Monday, April 1. The application forms can be found at www.iowalakes.edu/scholarships.
Potential scholarship recipients must apply each academic year. The current applications are for the 2013-2014 college year.
“I’d like to remind potential applicants that not all of our scholarships are need-based,” said Jolene Rogers, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement. “We have many scholarships that are academically based – or are for a specific program.”
The best thing to do is go online and apply, according to Rogers.
“The donors in our area have been very generous in their giving,” said Rogers. “They want to see young people in this region succeed.”
To be eligible for need-based scholarships offered by Iowa Lakes Community College, students’ FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) information results must be submitted to the college prior to April 1 as well.
All scholarship competitions use the same form. Deadline for all Iowa Lakes scholarships – for students to receive funds for the upcoming academic year, starting with funding in the fall semester – must be completed by April 1.
