Medical Assistant Specialist

The Medical Assistant 1-year degree program orients students to become multi-skilled trained professionals.

Special features of the program include:

Laboratory skills
venipuncture, process routine lab tests in a medical clinic, throat cultures, electrocardiograms, & etc.

Clinical Assisting
medication administration, assisting physicians with patient examinations and minor surgery procedures, and learning casting applications and removal and etc.

Administration
reception/appointment skills, insurance coding, computer skills, medical transcription and etc. 

The Iowa Lakes Community College Diploma Program, Spencer Campus, is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org).
