Following is the suggested sequence of courses required for an Associate in Arts degree in pre-Education. Additional developmental studies courses may be required before you can take college English or mathematics. Check with your transferring institution to ensure transferability of courses or specific program requirements.

A minimum of 64 hours is required to complete an AA degree at Iowa Lakes.

Iowa Para-Education Certification: Iowa Lakes Community College offers two courses that meet the requirements for Iowa Para-Educator Certification as designated by the Iowa Department of Education.  The recognized courses are DSV-125 Behavior Management and EDU-215/217 Introduction to Education.
