Broadcast Media Specialist
The Broadcast Media Specialist program is designed for men and women interested in working in radio, television or any media related occupation. As a Broadcast Media student, you will get to do your own radio and television shows.
Broadcast students receive hands-on training on modern radio and television equipment in the college broadcasting studio. Their own radio shows and television broadcasts are heard "live" from the Estherville campus. The students also televise college athletic events for the purpose of getting valuable play-by-play sports casting experience. They are seen and heard by viewers and listeners in three communities. Occasionally students produce other pre-recorded and "live" television programs both on-campus and off-campus.
Part of your lab fee goes toward trips to regional radio/TV stations. Full-time broadcast students also become members of the Broadcast club. One of the club's main activities is fund raising for a media trip. Previous trips have included Los Angeles, Chicago, Orlando and Atlanta.
