The Governor’s STEM Initiative infused 5 million dollars statewide to support high quality, research based STEM programs in both formal and non-formal educational settings. The Northwest Iowa STEM newsletter serves as a focal point for regional updates on STEM Professional Development opportunities, Contests and Challenge events associated with Scale Up programming and information about the implementation phase of this process.

The STEM Advisory Council is a forty-member partnership between all stakeholders in STEM acros the state of Iowa, including public and private sectors, higher education leaders, preK-12 educators and elected officials. The Northwest Iowa Regional Newsletter will include highlights and links to important news in STEM at the state level.

The urgent need to invigorate STEM educational pathways for our next generation of scientists, engineers, technicians and skilled workers is not confined to Iowa!
