GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
This is a full-time position located at the Estherville Campus. Primary
responsibilities are to direct and supervise the Wind Turbine Technology
Academic Program and employees and to develop and implement various
training programs for different segments of the wind energy
business/industry.

1. |
Supervise faculty and staff in the Wind Energy Program. |

2. |
Develop and implement training programs with area wind energy
companies for their employees. |
|
3. |
Develop and implement professional certificate programs in the
wind energy area as agreed upon with supervisor. |

4. |
Locate, interview, hire and evaluate instructors for the Wind
Turbine Technology Program and wind energy business/industry
training programs. |
|
5. |
Work closely with program instructors on curriculum, scheduling,
and industry needs or training. |

Frequent

|
1. |
Establish, monitor and maintain realistic budgets throughout
the year. |
|
2. |
Maintain appropriate records to document progress for
college and state reports. |
|
3. |
Locate and arrange facilities for classes. |
|
4. |
Maintain appropriate communications with other continuing
education programmers and appropriate
instructors/administrators/staff to ensure efficient
coordination of training with all areas of the College. |
|
5. |
Market programs to guarantee dissemination of information
and adequate enrollments. |
|
6. |
Public Speaking for various wind energy related
presentations. |
|
7. |
Participate as a member of AWEA (American Wind Energy
Association) and IWEA (Iowa Wind Energy Association) and
other relevant associations and organizations. |
|
8. |
Establish advisory committees as needed to provide expertise
and guidance in curriculum development and insure program
effectiveness. |
|
9. |
Instruct Wind Energy courses as needed. Substitute for
program instructors in their absence. |
|
10. |
Assist in the student recruitment process and marketing
efforts of the College. |

1. |
Serve on selected and voluntary committees of the college
when appropriate. |

2. |
Arrange and/or attend meetings when necessary. |
|
3. |
Conduct surveys to assess consumer needs and program
effectiveness. |

4. |
Conduct community awareness programs to advertise services. |
|
5. |
Work with marketing staff on promotional materials. |
|
6. |
Perform other work duties as assigned and requested. |

SPECIAL DEMANDS:
Position involves sitting or standing most of the time in
an office or classroom/laboratory setting. Constant (67-100%) reaching,
standing walking, lifting, grasping, talking hearing, repetitive motions
and viewing various types of close visual work. Frequent (34-66%)
climbing, stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling and carrying. Exerting
up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and 10 pounds of force frequently.
May be required to travel between sites utilizing personal vehicle. Must
have valid driver’s license, good driving record and provide proof of
insurance.
Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is
dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check.
The

Three
years or more industry experience or a combination of education and
experience required. Bachelor’s Degree and experience in
educational program development or instruction preferred.
SALARY:
260 day contract based upon experience and education. Position
beginning date is negotiable.
