Position:      Head Men's and Women's Soccer Coach/Instructor or Professional Support Staff Member
Classification: Professional Support
Department: Student Services
Report to:  Athletic Director

           

General Job Summary:

Primary responsibilities are to supervise, direct and coordinate activities and personnel in the Men’s and Women’s Soccer Program. Recruit quality student athletes to the program. Manage budgets associated with areas of responsibility. Serve on selected and voluntary committees. Other duties as assigned based on the successful candidate’s skill set.

1.   Constant

(67-100%)

  1. Responsible for the day to day operations of Men’s and Women’s Soccer program

  2. Recruitment of student athletes.

  3. Preparation of student athletes for intercollegiate competition.

  4. Monitor academic progress of student athletes.

  5. Supervise assistant and graduate assistant coaches.

 

 

2.   Frequent

(34-66%)

  1. Become familiar with and compliant of NJCAA rules and regulations.

  2. Assist with placement at four year colleges.

  3. Monitor and maintain budgets.
 

3.   Occasional

(10-33%)

  1. Serve on assigned and voluntary committees.

  2. Communicate effectively with staff and students.

  3. Other duties as assigned base on successful candidate’s skill set.

  1. Represent the College in a positive manner to employees, students, visitors and the general public.

  3. Read, understand, and express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written communications.

  6. Ability to effectively relate to a diverse group of students.

Special Demands:

Sedentary to light work. Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and carrying occasionally (10-33%). Walking, lifting, grasping and repetitive motion frequently (34-66%). Talking, hearing, and viewing various types of close visual work constantly (67-100%). Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and provide proof of insurance. Required to travel utilizing personal vehicle.

Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check.

Minimum Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred. Bi-lingual speaking preferred. Three years experience as Head/Assistant Soccer Coach and/or player desired. This is a full-time position that will include instructional or student service responsibilities.

Salary: Commensurate with background and experience for a 220 day contract.
