GAP Program Info

Gap Tuition Assistance Program

The Gap Tuition Assistance Program was established to provide funding for need-based tuition assistance to applicants. This assistance enables applicants to complete one of our following approved continuing education certificate training programs for in-demand occupations.

  • Activity Coordinator
  • Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT)
  • Basic Computing
  • Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  • Bookkeeper Certificate
  • Certified Nursing Aid (CNA)
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Medication Aide
  • Welding (AWS Certification)

GAP applicants need to complete and submit:

  1. Application
  2. GAP Program Informational Interview Sheet   or   GAP Program Research Sheet
  3. Proof of income  (copy of first two pages of federal income tax return preferred)
  4. National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), contact Success Center

Please call any of the following Iowa Lakes Community College Success Centers to schedule a time to complete the NCRC. Bring items 1-3 above to your appointment and the Success Center Staff will scan and email to mlutat@iowalakes.edu

Bookkeeping Specialist Certificate

This certificate program will provide the necessary bookkeeping/accounting skills to complete a national certification as a professional bookkeeper through AIPB(Association for Independent Professional Bookkeepers).

Basic Workplace Computing Certificate

Participants will complete Word Level I 7 II; Excel Level I: Access; Power Point; Windows 8; Outlook; and Integration.
Completion with testing leads to a certification with knowledge skills needed in today’s workplace.
